OUR MISSION IS TO CREATE A CULTURE OF WATER SAFETY IN THE METRO CHICAGO AREA.

Who We Are

Water Safety Task Force Metro Chicago was formed in 2018 to address the high drowning rates in Lake Michigan and in other local water sources - both at home and in nature.

We are creating effective policies and programming to establish a culture of water safety and set a standard for drowning prevention efforts in Metro Chicago through extensive collaboration.

We are committed to integrating national and global best practices in water safety as we develop data-driven solutions.

MISSION STATEMENT

"Our mission is to prevent drownings in the Chicago metro area by fostering a water safety culture. We achieve this by coordinating agencies to create effective policies and programs, setting standards for drowning prevention in the Great Lakes region."
